SCoP 3.51w

Version 3.51w of SCoP is an adaptation of version 3.51 for use with the Windows95/98/NT4/2000 ™ operating systems. SCoP v3.51 was originally designed to run in a text interface and command-line environment, under MSDOS and UNIX. This older version utilizes menus in the interface so that the user does not have to memorize commands. SCoP v3.51 can be run from a command window under Windows95/98/NT4/2000, but a separate text editor is required to prepare model description files.

Version 3.51w adds two Windows-based programs to the version 3.51 distribution. SCoP.exe is a text editor for preparing the model description files and is very similar to the Windows program "Notebook". The user can not only prepare model description files with this program, but also build and run SCoP and SCoPFit programs by clicking on menu items. Thus virtually all operations with SCoP programs can be initiated from this program and the user no longer has to work from a command window.

The second addition new program is FileViewer. This program can be used to display and print graphs from data files in the SCoP reference format, for example files containing simulation output and saved with a SCoP program. In the earlier MSDOS versions of SCoP, printing of graphic output could be done through a screen capture, but this capability is not available in Windows™. FileViewer is meant to replace the screen capture operation for printing of graphic output and in addition, this program provides a higher quality of graphics both on the screen and in printed output.
